The negative effect of goats on vegetation is well known worldwide. Damage caused by goats in Hawaii is worse than in other places because Hawaiian plant species evolved in the absence of grazing and browsing pressure. Goats were introduced to the eight major Hawaiian islands before 1800 and have reduced or eliminated whole populations of native plants. As a consequence, they have aided in nonindigenous plant invasion, and have increased soil erosion. Localized high populations of goats have completely eliminated even the most unpalatable native plant species.
But they are so cute in a very ugly way, don't you think? (But wait until you see the feral pigs!) The pigs are very ugly in a cute sort of way.

All over the world I have seen the incredible damage these creatures have done. Whalers used to drop them on islands during there travels so there would be a food source when the passed by the same island later on.
Keep the water tank full!

Thank You for your generous comments.
I must be honest. This fellow is unusually ugly for a typical feral goat.
Thank you for the visit. There is a program here where the neuter them. For the life of me they should be more aggressive.

He has an attitude and will not let visitors touch him.
You confirmed it. Beauty is in the beholder. (I happen to agree with you but don't tell anyone else.)
