Sinann, Every Island is different when it comes to cost. It all depends upon your standard of living. We rent. The Big Island is lower cost than Honolulu environs. Think winter folks.....no fuel oil for a furnace. Plus the Island can be crossed in less than three hours. It's kinda hard to us alot of gas here. Besides we own a Prius.

I miss the Big Island but not island life or prices for fuel.
