Well, from my perspective, I'd like to encourage more naked women to vote. er....that's probably not what you were expecting. OK. Let me suggest at this time of writing (golly), it appears that most of us have terrorist buddies living in our homes and secretly have become socialist commies who are willing to bring "death to Israel.
Quite likely, some of us who have voted live in cities with populations greater than all of Alaska.
It's a good thing you have losts of reasons....right?
Thank you for your assessment. There is truth in your words. The forecast tells us that unemployment should peak no earlier than the end of next year. Gad.
You are my kind of Americans. Voting Americans. Obama Americans
I voted for Obama, of course!
I hope you have a great weekend.
I did not consider alternative non traditional candidate. I made a mistake. I'm sorry. Just wasn't bright enough this time. Next time I'll grow a bigger brain.
Hope all is well with you!
I agree with everything Colin Powell said about McCain, and his picking Sarah Palin as his VP.
Only 4 more days to go, and I am so ready for this to end, and I will be praying that Obama wins!
Nobody feels they have an ideological compulsion to vote McCain
Only 3% of the respondents believe that Obama should be feared in spite of McCain's extraordinary effort in pounding the issue.
One in three respondents will be voting Obama because of the overriding condition of the economy.
12% of all respondents will be for McCain
---------------------------------------------------------------
What this means to me is that Republicans taking this poll do not see McCain as an ideological Republican. Republicans who participated have been persuaded that McCain is Bush. Given the results found in national polls, one of two conclusions can be drawn: Blogstream bloggers predominantly pal around with terrorists and endorse those for President who pal around with terrorist.
In fairness, I have tried reading blogs and news reports slanted toward the "conservative" perspective as well as those of a "liberal" slant. Alas, I find my reasoning for supporting Obama over McCain is best termed "a positive negative". I find far fewer reasons to want to tear my remaining hair out with Obama than I do with McCain.
On the poll I put that I wasn't voting this time around (the first time since I was 18 that I haven't voted in a major election) but I copied and pasted your poll to show you what I would have said if I could have had more options:
I believe McCain/Palin when they claim Obama is to be feared
I think Obama is "different", so he is a little fearful to some people but personally both candidates scare me.
Sarah Palin is a dangerous choice and ill-suited to be President
Yes. I agree with that statement. The woman has the IQ of an egg. Ideologically I don't agree with Hillary at all but to be honest, Palin makes her look like Solomon.
Ideologically I must vote for McCain
Since I'm mostly conservative my answer would be maybe.
Ideologically I must vote for Obama
No.
I will not vote this time around
This is true.
The economy drives me to finally vote Obama
No
Foreign policy drives me to finally vote McCain
No
Thanks for inviting me to your poll Gecko. That was fun.
You should have voterd absentee. Where your drivers license remains the same, that would be perfectly correct. Let's just say you are on vacation the last six months.
Appreciate you remarks.
As for voting.....I guess you are right. I didn't think of it. It's okay though because I just can't bring myself to vote for either one of them. Like I said, idealogically I'm conservative so I should normally go for someone like McCain but...........I just can't. I find him, and his Barbie Doll wife kinna insincere. Not like they all aren't.....I just can't bring myself to support him. And Palin? Gosh.....gimme Hillary already. I just cannot condone that choice for VP. What was he thinking? I think he wasn't.
Obama? I would have supported a black man for the White House. I wanted Alan Keyes several years ago. He didn't get past the primaries but I really liked that guy. I don't dislike Obama, or find him as insincere as McCain, I just don't agree with him......assuming I can find out what he believes on anything. Biden? Like I said one day at Whit's......Obama went for 'numbers in safety' (no, I didn't make a typo there). Obama brought in a nice, staid, older white man......to make everyone 'feel safe'. Whatever.
With what my friend Monsterbox is digging up with the 'vote flipping' (I copied and pasted one of his posts that I named "Monster speaks from down under" if you want to see it), and even Oprah experienced it.......I just don't know how much our votes mean anymore. If they ever did.
Your poll was fun, Gecko. I've enjoyed the interchange.
Btw - don't for one second think the BRADLEY EFFECT is not in play for this election.
remember what Rush Limbaugh says - "Obama must be ahead in all of the polls - by MORE than 10 points on election day to HAVE A CHANCE.
now..now.. don't get nervous.....eh,eh,eh
ice
Are you sure that is what you are grappling with? Or, is there something else going on? Please vote here and there.
I voted on your poll.
Thanks for inviting me.
peace, wayf
I voted for Obama for his "leadership skills" since I think that is the highest priority when voting to choose a leader..duh!...
Unless of course the candidate needs to authentically be feared. Now what would that candidate look like? I would enjoy comments as to characteristics.
As for me, currently, He/she would stand by and escalate an error that costs American lives and bankrupts a nation, knowing it to have been an error that will continue to cost American lives. What constitutes "winning the war" (the collective expanding wars) in the Arab world - and leaving? That hasn't been defined because frankly there has been constant war there from the beginning of time and within the Republicans we must be now in the middle of it. Perhaps McCain sees winning the wars secretly as the complete extermination of the Arab world if they are not completely persuaded to choose American democracy by the sword. Being the son and grandson of Admirals, I believe he sees himself as deficit unless as a politician he is at war and somehow winning it. I believe there always needs to be an enemy that we are at war with for McCain/Bush to have purpose.
And now our economy is a casualty.
I am appreciative for your visit. Calm seas to you.
I too have been a lifelong Republican, however I think Obama is a 'for the people' man regardless of ones preference of Political Party preference. I KNOW we 'need a change' I feel Obama will give us a great change we NEED as a Country.
He got my Vote a few days back, I pray that he wins. I could go on and on as to other reasons why he got my Vote but the bottom line is summed up with one word C H A N G E and I hope my dream to see this comes true.
Blessings,
Reba
I took your poll. I indicated "other." I supported McCain/Palin for ideological reasons. I used to be a socialist and foreswore that economic system because it A) provides disincentives to productivity; B) keeps people in poverty; and C) engenders a wide-array of social pathologies. Obama is clearly a socialist. Anyone intimately familiar with socialism easily recognizes this. Oh, did I mention that socialism is immoral.
P.S. By the way, did you notice that the Democratic congress has immediately--after the election--dropped its pretense of fiscal concern over the deficit and is attempting a bailout the United Auto Workers…er…I mean the Big Three American automakers? It is hard to compete with Toyota when each Detroit worker costs $81 dollars per hour. But, who cares…we can print money into oblivion. Enjoy.
Ever so briefly, your concerns about creeping socialism should have brought you fully awake with Bush's nationalization of the banking industry. As for the bailout of the auto industry, your ideology needs a rethink for these times. Or would you throw so many autoworkers out on the street unemployed for an outdated ideology? I say absolutely. They're all Democrats. Those bankers are all Republicans. We need to save the bankers.
Bush is your President. The old Congress remains in place. This is on Bush. Bush has been the best the Republicans could do. Both of them. Now at the turn of the year, change arrives without the corrupting force of lobbyists for the first time in a very long time. May God bless America for the new path taken.
As for your statement that you voted, you did no such thing. This poll has been closed since election day. There is, in fact, no option available for you even to attempt to vote.
Why would a megachurch minister (you) lie about this?
